Weekly Challenge

Hope this post finds everyone well! We are doing well also! We have a new game in my house....who can get to Nathan's new Twin bed after he comes in and takes over most of our bed first...it is so funny. It is like that car commercial where the couple tries to get up earlier than the other so they can take the new car. A couple of mornings ago I woke up to Nathan's feet in my face....I hurriedly looked over to Jason's side to see if he was still there so I could hop into Nathan's bed. He was already there...snoring! It has become quite a joke of necessity in our house lately. We should just send the child back to his bed, but it is easier to just move! So now the first to wake up is the first to get a couple of hours sleep, uninterrupted. Thankfully it is only like this a few nights a week now....ever since I figured out if you give him less water at night he is less likely to get up at 4 or 5 am! Now that is one of those parenting things you just have to figure out!

So it is Friday, which means a challenge! I have a good circle journal group formed...which I am very excited about!

This weeks challenge is to scrap about something that bothers you...a conflict in your head that you cannot get past. Maybe it is something as simple as you always don't know what to wear in the morning or maybe it is as complex as feelings you cannot get by from a past relationship....even though you are happy now. It could be something that always bugs you...keys making noise while you drive or your husband leaving his socks on the floor/dishes in the sink...scrap it and send me your pages (jenne@darice.com)!

From the submissions I am going to pick a person that I want to have them write a little about themselves on the blog. Just to get to know the blog readers and what they like, etc. I am going to do this each week so have your submissions in by Wed so I can post your bio on Friday!! So get scrappin! I know I am going to have a weekend of scrapping (so EXCITED!)

Don't miss the product in the stores & New Challenge!

Morning! Hope this snowy day finds everyone nice and warm! I just would like to remind everyone to be nice and careful on the slick roads and sidewalks. I know three people who have taken tumbles in the past month and have broken something. So please be careful!!!

Don't miss the winter and rock star paper and embellishments!!! They will be discontinued after March first. Here is a sample page from the rock-star line. I will posting sample pages from those lines all weekend long, so keep looking back and get to the store to get yours! You only have a week! (can you believe that?)

Thanks for the Layout Jill!!
Now that the creative relay is over I am looking to do another group "Project." This time I would like to do a circle journal! This is a journal that theme (ie: vacations) and you send to each participant in the group and everyone does a page. I have done a few and they are very fun and at the end you get a completed book that looks fantastic with everyone's input! Please email me no later than February, 27th at 5:00 pm if you would like to participate (jenne@darice.com). Then I will put the list together and email out instructions! I look forward to working with all of you!
Have a great FRIDAY!!!!! I am going to be busy going to birthday parties all weekend!!! Yeah for cake!!!!

New Product in Stores!

Hi Everyone! Hope all is well! Nathan keeps cracking us up. This week's amusement is with his "girlfirends." He has had a little girlfriend in Preschool since they were in the toddler room. Kassy is her name. Well about the middle of last week I picked Nathan up and he was crying...this is unusual for him, so I was a little concerned. The first words out of his mouth "Kassy tell me NO!" Hmmm this sounds interesting. So I chat with his teacher for awhile and it seems that Kassy does not want to play with Nathan anymore. Poor guy! She tells him "NO"! All weekend he was repeating Kassy tells me NO! Between my husband and I we were having a ball with it...laughing and such (not in front of him, of course)...So I felt this was a great opportunity to tell him that there are lots of girls and if one does not want to play, find another to play with. I wanted to add, find a guy friend to play with, but that might get confusing. It is a new week now and apparently Nathan took my little talk to heart because in walks Zoey, And he goes nuts! "Zoey, Zoey!!" and that seemingly means a new "girlfriend." Can't this wait say 10 years?

At any rate there is new product in Pat Catan's!!! This very cool product from Bazzill - In Stitchz cardstock! This awesome paper allows you to stich (or pack brads) in your cardstock on a pre-made design! HOW COOL!

Reader Submissions

Hi everyone! Hope all is well! It has been a very busy month and I have been collecting reader submissions! They look wonderful!!

Paint Chip Challenge (Relay Girls took part in)

By RoseAnn

By Patti
Super Submitter! All of the following by Erin

Wow!! Thanks girls! I look forward to seeing more submissions to jenne@darice.com!

In other news, Nathan has been becoming quite the independent almost 3 yr old. He now knows what he wants, when he wants it and how he wants it. It is very interesting to get out of the door in the morning now. I would say more like a power stuggle....yesterday we put on his shoes (which he refused to do by himself...I know he can do it himself..he knows this too!) to get our morning started. All of a sudden he shreaked "my sock is broke!!!!!" This means there was a little too much fabric by his toes...got me...but it is rather funny when he says it. But this time we were trying to get out of the door to work and school. He threw off both of his shoes (argh) and protested until I fixed his "broken" sock. On the shoes went again. And again the socks were "broke"...this time I made him walk a little and the socks were fine. PHEW! Let's multiply this by just about EVERYTHING we do....color, get dressed, brush teeth, clean up, eat dinner...I told my mom and she is still laughing at me. Although this time she volunteered to take him for an evening so we could go out and relax a little. 3 is harder than 2. I dont know who came up with that phrase "terrible twos" but it should be something like testing threes! I love (almost) every minute of it though. If it weren't for him my life would not be complete!!

Cool Notes!

Hey everyone! Hope all is going well! I attended a crop over the weekend (seemed too short...only got 3 pages done) and found a new technique that I am sure you will LOVE! I do and I am addicted to it (so are my friends!). It is blowing up your pictures to 6X12 format (81/2X11 scrappers would probably do a 4X11 size...but I do not know how that would turn out.)....here is a page that I did while at the crop.

You have to be careful what picture you choose because once you blow the picture up, it might get a bit "grainy" so you want to use a picture that is A+ quality. There are a host of other sizes to change up your layouts....6X6, 8X8, wallets, 4X4....almost anything you can think of! It is great!!! Try it and you will see....Plus (yes there is another upside to it) you usually make a simpler layout with this method because you do not want to overpower this great picture you just made....this saves lots of time AND money...you will get addicted!!!

Thats all for now!
